Entrepreneurship and Religion: The interaction of Multiple Identities
This PDW will be led by several of the world’s leading entrepreneurship scholars during the 2022 Academy of Management annual conference. The focus will be on the influence of religion in entrepreneurship as it relates to entrepreneurs’ navigation of multiple identities. More details to follow on aom.org.
Ph.D. Seminar: Faith and Entrepreneurship
Building off of conversations from the L.I.F.E. Research Conference, several leading academics are hosting a one-day seminar for doctoral students interested in the intersection of faith and entrepreneurship. The seminar will take place in Seattle, Washington the day before the Academy of Management Annual Conference begins. Doctoral students interested in participating should email Amanda Lawson at LawsonA8@MiamiOH.edu for more information.
L.I.F.E. Research Conference
The 2nd Annual L.I.F.E. Research Conference will be held virtually to encourage research at the intersection of Faith and Entrepreneurship. The conference will include keynote speakers, panel breakout sessions led by leading scholars from around the world whose work focuses on entrepreneurship, religious faith, and the integration of faith and the entrepreneurship, and even a research pitch competition with a research grant for winners. We are incredibly excited for the conference to highlight past, current, and future work that both encourages and challenges scholars, and facilitates a community for scholars across disparate, yet surprisingly related fields of faith and entrepreneurship.
Breaking Chains: the Fringe Coffee House
Join us for an evening with the founders of the Fringe, Sarah and Patrick Davis, as they share their stories and the inspiration for the Fringe, a coffee shop that employs ex-convicts in Hamilton, Ohio. We will hear from Sarah and Patrick, followed by a Q&A. The event is sponsored by the Miami University L.I.F.E. Student Group and is free and open to the public!
